The 2025 GMC Yukon has space for eight to travel in style and comfort and a massive cargo-carrying capability. It also includes a host of standard and available tech features to delight its driver and passengers. We’re going to look at some of this technology.

Advanced Safety Technology

The Yukon includes over fifteen specialized safety features to protect you and your passengers. These systems use cutting-edge radar, sensors, and cameras to identify and warn you of dangerous situations so you can avoid them. Some systems, like the Following Distance Indicator, help prevent accidents by alerting you if you’re following too close to another vehicle and an accident is possible.

Other systems, like Automatic Emergency Braking, can actively intervene to protect you from a collision. It does this by automatically slowing your Yukon or even bringing it to a complete stop almost instantly. Still other features, like Traffic Sign Recognition, can identify speed limits or other important signs you might miss and alert you.

Night Vision

This innovative technology is standard or available depending on your trim choice and makes driving at night safer than ever. It uses a thermal imaging or infrared camera to identify pedestrians or animals ahead of you. The camera’s view is translated into a black and white image on your screen, with heat-producing objects shown as bright white images against a contrasting dark background.

The camera can see up to 330 feet ahead, and the system produces yellow boxes around the images of people or animals to highlight them. The yellow boxes will change to orange if you’re approaching a detected object too quickly, and you’ll receive a warning alert and hear a warning tone. Finally, if the system determines a collision is possible, the boxes change to red, eight beeps sound, and a collision warning icon appears on your screen.

Trailering Technology

The Max Trailering Package is available and enables the Yukon to tow up to 8,200 pounds with the 6.2L V8 gasoline or 3.0L Turbo Diesel, or 8,400 pounds with the 5.3L V8 engine. This package includes additional cooling for the gas engine and an integrated trailer brake controller to provide measured braking force when necessary.

It adds a Hitch View camera to provide a close-up of the hitch to make lining up the hitch and trailer easier. An additional safety feature, Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering, is installed to alert you to any vehicles that enter the blind zones behind the trailer. A Smart Trailer Integration Indicator allows you to monitor the smart trailer features for extra safety.
